Hurt people, hurt people - remembering this often helps when someone hurts us with their actions or words. It is better to respond with kindness rather than with anger. Ask them what is wrong, if they are okay.

Seek to understand rather than be understood. Seek to love others rather than hate. A little sympathy or empathy can go a long way and love can cover a multitude of sins.
